Drive ‘N Arrive #6: Backing Out

The goal of every vehicle journey is to arrive without a ticket or a crash.

This is the sixth in a series with updates and tips about safety on the road.

       How many times have you backed out of a parking space, only to stop suddenly because a driver is passing by? No matter how slowly and cautiously you inch back, and no matter how many times you check both ways for oncoming vehicles, there comes a driver, arriving suddenly and not pausing for you to complete your exit.

       Unless, of course, they are waiting for your space!

       Let’s see some legislation mandating that drivers stop when they come upon a vehicle backing out of a parking space. No one wants to get hit because drivers are not stopping to wait. Impatient much? Don’t get me started about stop signs. That is for another post.
