John J. Seng

John is a career strategic communications professional, specializing in serving life science clients throughout most of his 40-year career. He currently counsels non-competing communications firms on management practices, performance and strategic growth as a senior advisor with Prosper Group; as well as non-profit organizations in strategic planning and leadership cultivation via Grayscale.

He launched his own health and life sciences-focused public relations firm in 1996, Spectrum Science Communications, which he sold to current management in June 2018. Through John’s leadership, Spectrum became a top-tier health and life sciences communications firm of national and global repute. He co-founded GLOBALHealthPR in 2001, a unique partnership of 20 independent PR firms spanning the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia-Pacific.

 

He currently serves on the Board of Visitors of the Philip Merrill College of Journalism at the University of Maryland, where he earned his BS in journalism. As an officer with the Greater Olney Chamber of Commerce (GOCA), John currently chairs the Transportation Committee.

 

He has chaired the Society for Women’s Health Research and was elected to the Arthur W. Page Society of communications counselors. He served on the Progeria Research Foundation Board of Directors for 10 years. He has participated in the lector ministry at St. Peter’s Parish in Olney for more than 23 years.

 

He lives with his wife Christine, driving safely to and from their home in Rockville/Olney, Maryland.
