Yesterday, I received a call from reporter (and friend) Christian Flores of ABC7 News Washington https://x.com/CFloresNews, requesting an interview on recent cases of exhibition driving and street racing in suburban Maryland.
By way of context, SafeRoadsMD was the lead public advocacy organization behind a new law enacted in 2024 to curb this dangerous and reckless behavior. For the most part, we’ve seen this law make a real difference—helping to deter criminal and unsafe driving, especially in commercial and urban centers.
Mr. Flores’s report covers an unfortunate departure from what I still believe is a downturn in these events.
